Meditations On Leadership
These are my thoughts on leadership related topics and ideas. It is meant to be a sort of journal for me and if you find it useful than I am happy to have helped.
"One day my grandson said to me, grandpa were you a hero in the war? And I said to him no I’m not a hero, but I have served in a company full of them." -Major Dick Winters It's important to have heroes to look up to. Some of my heroes are; Marcus Aurelius, George Washington, Winston Churchill, Hal Moore, and Major Dick Winters. This isn't a complete list by any means but these men are towards the top of my list. If you don't have a hero yet I would encourage you to learn about Major Dick Winters, he wasn't a perfect man but he was a good one and there is a lot that you can learn about him because he lived recently and his life was well documented. He is portrayed in the book and HBO miniseries Band of Brothers and you can read about him in books like Beyond Band of Brothers and Conversations With Major Dick Winters. He was a good soldier, a good man, and a good leader. I think practically everyone could learn something from studying his life. Leadership LessonIt can be lonely at the top so you should always find someone to look up to. Even if that person isn't alive anymore it is still helpful to have someone that you are familiar with who has been where you have been and that you can learn from.
