Meditations On Leadership
These are my thoughts on leadership related topics and ideas. It is meant to be a sort of journal for me and if you find it useful than I am happy to have helped.
"Don't want what you don't want" -Darren Hardy Darren Hardy's book The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster is a fantastic book for anyone planning on starting a business but one of the lines that really stood out to me was the quote above. I love that thought because I tried to want something that I didn't want for a long time, so long in fact that I had a hard time figuring out what exactly it is that I do want. It has been a long journey for me. I wish I would have understood this quote better sooner. If I could go back in time to give myself a message it would be that when you are looking for "what you will be when you grow up" to forget about what pays, forget about money completely, start with your heart. Listen to what it wants and follow that, then worry about the money, the where, the how, etc. Leadership lessonDon't want what you don't want and don't let your people want what they don't want either. Make sure that they have time to listen to their hearts too, even if that means that they ultimately leave you.

This is a good quote and I'm interested in how it would sound as what you SHOULD do. How would you phrase it in the positive sense? maybe something like, "let your inner light lead you".

That's a good point! It's always a good idea to look on the bright side. Maybe "Want what you want" is a more positive way to say the same thing.
