Failure is a tricky subject. Some people are in the "fail fast" camp and some are in the "failure is not an option" camp. In my opinion it is really an issue of perspective and semantics. In the end what people mean is that if you hit a road bump or something doesn't work out the way you hoped you just need to keep going. As long as you never give up you won't fail. Sometimes though, you should give up and fail. If your heart isn't in something, if you are doing it for the wrong reasons, give it up, fail, and move on to something that will make you happy. Only you can decide if you should keep going but no one should live a life of self inflicted misery.

Leadership Lesson

Failure is not always a bad thing. Sometimes you should choose failure now so that you can gain a larger success later. Don't use your own laziness or insecurity as an excuse but if you can truly say in your heart of hearts that something isn't for you, stop doing it and move on.
